Natalie took the Sacramento scene by a storm in the 1990s with her band Natalie Cortez and the Ultra Violets. She released 4 albums, played the Palms Play House, Cesar Chavez Park and other high profile events.

Alex Cosper wrote on May 5, 2012 "Natalie Cortez & The UltraViolets were top contenders to be the next big band from Sacramento. They had released a series of CDs that contained hit-sounding pop/rock/alternative gems that marked them as one of the top acts on the city's first internet radio station called "Sacramento Music" (later changed to SacLive). "

Natalie's back on the scene and her fans continue to be devoted followers of her music with her new band The Natalie Cortez Band.
